Within every child lies the potential of infinite greatness. We do not know which one will be a Nobel Prize winner. We do not know which one will write the next great novel. We do not know which one will find that magical cure for cancer. We do not know which one will be the transformative figure in his or her community. What we do know is that the full potential of any child will not be realized without a strong educational foundation. We also know that the more positive experiences a child has, the more possibilities lie ahead.
The Detroit Public Schools Foundation exists to help create many positive experiences inside and outside the classroom. We respond to teachers and administrative requests for funding that is designed to ensure that each child receives the highest quality education. Our goal is to garner the funding necessary to broaden and deepen the opportunities available to students, and to extend the professional development options for teachers. We partner with many others to fulfill this goal.
We could not play the supportive role that we do if we were not the recipient of the generosity of the community. Individuals, corporations, and foundations entrust us with the funds necessary to achieve our mission. We are grateful for the contributions and thank you for caring about the children of Detroit. We continue to ask for your engagement so that our youth will grow to be successful and productive members of the community.
